James Hood is renowned as a vital and versatile musical pioneer - especially with his work on the PanART hang, a uniquely mesmeric melodic instrument, and for his collaborations with international animation artists.
His lengthy and varied musical resumé includes playing drums in The Pretenders, an ongoing two-decades-plus run as mastermind of the visionary ambient/electronica act Moodswings, and an expansive array of production and soundtrack projects.

The Otago Museum shares the natural, cultural and scientific stories of Otago, Aotearoa New Zealand and the world.
The Museum has been collecting objects for over 150 years (although many of the items in their collection are far older) and includes over 1.5 million objects, which come from around the globe to tell visitors more about the world – from Dunedin to deep space, from millions of years ago to envelope-pushing research – through galleries, exhibitions, displays, tours and talks.
The Perpetual Guardian Planetarium, located in the Beautiful Science Gallery - the world’s first laser-activated, interactive digital gallery - boasts a 360° immersive theatre experience with daily shows suitable for the whole family.
Galleries and exhibitions are accessible by wheelchair and pram.

Entry to the Museum and the galleries is free. Ticketed experiences include the Tūhura Otago Community Trust Science Centre, and the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium.
On occasion, the Museum may charge a fee for a programme, event or exhibition; this will be clearly advertised. Donations are welcome.
Metered street parking is available around the Museum from $2/hour.
Bus stops are located on Albany Street, at the edge of the Museum Reserve. Information on timetables and routes can be found at the Otago Regional Council website.
